MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Mark Drabenstott
Each of us has a silent companion in the back of our mind throughout life’s journey. It’s patient but persistent. Whenever we reach a problem or decision, it sounds out: YOU can do it. People of faith hear a better voice. It’s summed up in one short verse: Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. (Ps. 37:5) There are three powerful faith lessons here.
SPIRITUAL SCORES WITH THE WCF
Kari Larsen
Music has always held a relevant tone of inspiration and deeper note of reverence within our Lord’s worship service. As a community, we seek to elevate our thoughts, voices, and hearts through our favorite hymns, bible characters, scriptural passages, and prayerful psalms put to music.
VOLUNTEER VOICE
Amy Lagasse
WCF is grateful to the many individuals who dedicate their time, talents, and energy to growing faith in our community. WCF relies on a team of individuals working together to grow faith worldwide. We want to grow our team and hope you are interested in volunteering.
CARA
Gordon Dawes (Chair)
Over the last six years, Britain has seen a noticeable rise in inward migration of people - adults, unaccompanied children, and families - seeking sanctuary here. They come partly from countries torn apart by war (such as Syria and Ukraine). Still, a significant proportion are from Iran, where many suffer under the restrictions of the Islamic regime. All leave behind their former lives and broader family in a flight to refuge.
MEET THE DIRECTOR: Alan Ghent
This month, meet Alan Ghent, the secretary of WCF. Levi (A Little Faith podcast) and Alan talk about growing up in a vibrant CYC in Toronto. They discuss the changing nature of the programs Alan has been involved with over the 28 years of serving on the Board of Directors. He mentions the early days of the cassette library of talks, videos, and cds that are now all available online. Alan notes how WCF branched out to support the Bible Education Centers in South Africa, the dormitories in Cambodia, and White Fields workers in Vietnam. Levi and Alan then consider the need to invigorate ecclesias and continue to grow faith together in our post-pandemic world.
