WCF recognizes the challenges that face youth in today’s society. These challenges are especially great for young people who have been resettled to North America. The Newcomers program provides support for resettled youth to help foster connections with each other, and to networks within the household of faith
Youth Conference 2021
The isolation of the pandemic years has been especially difficult for young people. To support their need for a strong Biblical footing and for friendships in Christ, Newcomers sponsored Christadelphian young people whose families came to Canada and the United States as refugees, as well as an experienced mentor, to attend the Youth Conference. Here is what they had to say about the experience:

“It’s always nice going to bible camps and always amazing to have those Christ-like people around you. The encouragement and praises to God shared was amazing. It improves us as people and helps improve our relationship with God.”
“It was nice knowing that we were away from the world and the distractions of the world. My eyes were opened to how the world has influenced me and how I can improve myself as more Christ minded.”
“I definitely wish I could have stayed a lil’ longer but I understood I’ll always be in the world but not of the world. Always being aware of the world and not following the world but the word of God is what I want.”
“I’m grateful I had the chance to go.”
Medar, Baltimore ecclesia
“During these times of covid restrictions; not being able to be together etc has been draining. With all the chaos happening around the world, it was nice to get away and be with young people in person to study God’s word together”
“Being with other young people was so uplifting. It gave me a glimpse of the kingdom and strengthened me especially during these tough times.”
“The workbook was amazing. It had so many questions I had to reflect on and think over. It was nice to hear everyone’s answers in the discussion groups.”
Mulan, Toronto West ecclesia
“It was really nice seeing so many other young people... where you can connect with those who have the same hope, encouraging and uplifting each other. It’s not just all about coming together and learning God’s words but it's also about building friendships, relationships and working together toward God’s kingdom.”
“The discussions groups, classes, campfire songs and praises are what bring us together plus all the activities. We had the wonderful spotlight on God’s grace and the family He has given us.”
Emerance, Monroe Ecclesia, Washington State
