Motivate One Another to Love

Dear Brothers and Sisters in our Lord Jesus,

What a wonderful month December turned out to be.

Mobile BEC

On the 5th of December the Mobile BEC made its debut at the Plaasmol Craft Market. Set up on the entrance path for all who entered and exited to see. Although there were not large numbers  of enquiries, we still had some foot traffic coming to the stall. Valuable lessons also learned for the next markets.

Clean-up for Christ

The Clean-up for Christ initiative debuted on the 16th of December on the beaches of Bloubergstrand.  Various  people inside and outside of our spiritual family  were  very keen to do their part. Having the Mobile Bec as the collection point, we soon had everyone doing their part.  Even people of the street came to pick up a bag and assist with the Clean-up. Although the wind was howling and hurling sand at every one, it did not stop us from what we set out to do. It was wonderful to see Hebrews 10:24 “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works” (NLT) that was printed on our shirts happen before our eyes. This will be a monthly effort where we will not just clean the beaches, but also parks  and other public spaces.  God willing, we will host the next on the 8th of January and on the 15th of January.

Container Project

The day has finally  arrived where we took delivery of the container. Prior to this event, myself, Brother Charles Kotkin-Smith, and Brother Llewellyn Scheepers spent the mornings  preparing the field. Mowing all the tall grass and creating level rests for the container to stand on.

By the grace of God all went well even though there were a few  snags, such as the truck getting stuck in a drainage hole.

Now all that is left is to furnish it!

Container Furnishing

With the container received, it was time to get it furnished. With the help of Brothers Charles and Llewellyn andSisters Val, Lilandi, and Stacey, we set out to the shops to supply the container. After many hours of trolley dashing, we loaded up the trailer and with the help of the P2P group we will furnish  and decorate the container so that it’s ready  for its first use.

Annual Christmas Day Ecclesial lunch

Every year we open our home to our brothers and sisters to join us on Christmas for an Ecclesial lunch.  The premise behind this was to have those who would be alone on Christmas day to have a place where they will be surrounded by their spiritual family and good fellowship.  The day was enjoyed thoroughly by all the brothers and sisters who attended.

Other than the above-mentioned activities, we continue to Support Little Brinks  and prepare for the upcoming P2P visit to Cape Town.

We are excited to meet our brothers and sisters who  will be visiting.

Your Brother in Christ,

Michael Furstenburg
Cape Town, South Africa
