WCF’s Newcomers Program is expanding in response to the rising number of Christadelphian families worldwide displaced because of conflict, danger and persecution and in need of resettlement.

This is an urgent need in our global Community.  Many believer families have fled their homes, facing threats to their lives in their own countries. These families need help to relocate safely.  Today, many are  at risk of being deported to the countries they fled. Once returned they face an uncertain future that can include imprisonment and death.

WCF is expanding the scope of our Newcomers Program to help these at-risk families find resettlement to North America. We will be working alongside Christadelphian organizations around the globe to identify believers most in need of resettlement. We hope to connect these families with North American ecclesias willing to sponsor them, utilizing new government programs to bring refugees to North America.

You can help... This effort will take many willing hands and hearts.  You may never have considered meeting such a need, but there are many ways to help.  Here are just a few:

  • Provide spiritual support–helping refugees become an active part of the local ecclesia–including finding ways to overcome language differences.

  • Provide practical orientation to help refugees adapt to a new culture (connecting with schools, getting drivers licenses, finding housing).

  • Teach English as a second language (ESL).

  • Help refugees navigate the job market and find suitable employment.

  • Research government and other assistance programs in your area.

  • Document ecclesial best practices in supporting newcomers.

  • Become proficient in utilizing WelcomeCorps and other Federal programs that hold promise in sponsoring refugees at risk.

WCF seeks volunteers to be part of an expanded Newcomers Team that aims to assist at-risk Christadelphian families find a home in North America.  If you would like to be part of the team working to develop this program, please complete the form below. Please note any special skills that can build our capacity to respond in the best way to this need. We will reach out to you to learn more and discuss how you can contribute to the Newcomers Program.
