Kingdom Kids

Dear Brothers and Sisters in our Lord Jesus,

I pray that you are healthy and well. I wish to share with you some of the work that has been done in South Africa over the last month.

Fellowship Gathering

On August 14, we hosted a “Kingdom Kids” picnic for the ecclesial members in the Cape Town area. The picnic was outdoors to ensure good ventilation, and to comply with Covid restrictions. We had a fun filled day of fellowship with the Sunday school children and our brothers and sisters. As summer is approaching here, we are, if the Lord wills, going to host more of these events to encourage our brothers and sisters to meet and enjoy fellowship.

Outreach in the Brotherhood

I recently visited brothers that live more or less two hours from Cape Town. They do not have a steady source of income, and are in need of some support. Thanks to many donations, from both inside and outside of the ecclesia, I was able to deliver clothes, blankets and shoes as well as some food related items donated by the Cuddle Trust.

Little Brinks

The home of safety “Little Brinks” has become a project quite dear to me. As mentioned in my previous report, the aim is to install a container on the property where we can run various programs as well as provide a warm, dry space in which to host various other activities. Visits to the children are now happening on a regular basis. In addition to providing physical support regular food and vitamin donations are also taken to them. I pray continuously that the Lord will bless this effort.

Afrikaans Courses

I am still translating and editing literature in preparation for our planned Afrikaans preaching efforts. My excitement for this project can barely be contained. Brother Llewelyn Scheepers has re-designed the “Good News of the Kingdom of God” logo in Afrikaans, and will be used on all handouts and literature. Stickers will also be printed soon, all to help spread the message.

Puppet Ministry

Our Puppet Ministry effort is, in all honesty, my Achilles heel at the moment, but I am not giving up yet. Being my first video production, and with no videography experience, it is a whole new world. We have recorded the first episode, and during editing I realized that the current script is not what I want for the project. A new script is in progress. Hopefully, soon puppets “Bennie” and “Botsie” will be conveying the Bible to our children.

I’m looking forward to writing to you again soon to share the work that is being done in Cape Town, South Africa. May God’s blessings be with you and may the return of our Lord Jesus be soon.
