Today, Sunday school started again at the Christadelphian church in Port Elizabeth. We had our regular children attend and then we had 6 friends also come to Sunday school. These 6 extra children were introduced to us by the Holiday club we hosted 3 weeks ago.
The Sunday school children were allowed to (for the first time) be in their own room and sing their own songs to start the morning off. We had 14 children at Sunday school and they all enjoyed singing with the guitar. Next week we have some children also playing their own instruments, one girl plays the accordion and we will have someone play an African drum.
The children are split in 3 different classes according to their age and knowledge of the Bible. Some new children are not yet familiar with the books of the Bible so we will be teaching them the “66 books of the Bible” song to help them memorize the books and find them easier through the class. Each child has a sheet with a memory-verse tracker, each time they say their memory verse correctly they get a star on the corresponding square, this is one of the ways the children can earn merits that get added up at the end of the year for the prize giving.
All the children also sat in the memorial meeting, they were given some Biblical crossword puzzles to keep them busy during the meeting. They are all very excited to come back next week.
