Sunday 3 August 2014 was a very special Sunday for us here in Gauteng, South Africa. We received five new members into our spiritual family when Riziki, Anastazia, Promise, Kisanga and John were baptized into the saving name of Jesus Christ. All five of them have been attending the Congolese meeting in Pretoria for over 10 months (some even longer) and then had special baptism classes with Bro. Paderi on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
It was a blessing to be part of the interviews and hear them give such endearing confessions of their new found faith. It was refreshing to hear some of them say how great it felt that they now had peace of mind because their faith was based on their own understanding of the scriptures. Isaiah’s words regarding people who tremble at his word is still as true today as it was then. Indeed there will be those who seek God in spirit and in truth and their hearts are the ones God is looking for.
We are specifically grateful toward WCF for their support of the Congolese ecclesia which enables them to have a decent meeting place every Sunday and a place that the students can visit for teaching during the week. This support plays a huge role in the growth the ecclesia has had.
We take great comfort from the fact that the Congolese ecclesia has “lost” some of it’s baptized members to ecclesias in the USA but God has again given them a harvest after they planted and watered to fruitful seed of the Gospel
