Kempton Park Bible Education Centre
The KMPBEC continues to be a daily preaching outlet and we get new students enrolling for the Bible Courses every day. Up to now we have enrolled 2465 students on the Bible courses. Many of these do not complete the course. We know however that it is necessary to sow plenty in order for some of the seeds to fall on good soil. The Bible classes during lunch time still provide an opportunity for students to have their questions answered and to learn more about specific topics. The attendance for these classes has been fairly erratic during this April month which is full of public holidays and long weekends.
It was with great joy that we interviewed and baptised one of the students that has been attending the classes at the BEC for the last 5 months. Andrew Mokokoane has been very serious in his approach to search the scriptures to see if the things we taught were indeed so. He has also been coming to our ecclesia every Sunday for the last 4 months. He was baptised on the 26th of April and we rejoice in having a new brother added to our family.
Other projects
COP Trust website
- The website for the COP Trust have been updated to reflect the donation of container that was made to the Modimo Oteng crèche in Tembisa and to knowledge and thank the company who made the generous donation.
- This website address remains – www.coptrust.org.za
Modimo Oteng Crèche
- After a lot of hard work in levelling some of the ground at the crèche a 3x6 meter container was donated and delivered in March by the WK Construction Company. It will serve very well as storage space and an extra class room for the crèche.
- The number of children at the crèche has now grown to 30 and we have had to enforce a waiting list. The parents have seen that the children really get quality Christian care and education at the nursery school.
- Sis Leona continues to support the two ladies running the crèche in terms of sound financial management and it ensured that they both got a reasonable salary for Feb and March and that it will also be the case for April. It has been wonderful to see how these two woman now have such a sense of purpose, getting financially independent and are living such fruitful lives in their community.
- Sister Beth Giles (UK) and Brother Jonathan and sister Megan Sabo also visited the crèche and we enjoyed seeing them interact with the children there.
- We had the privilege to install a security gate at the hall. It was more to prevent the children from going astray during the hectic play times they have! ☺
- There is still plenty to do at the crèche and we are looking forward to putting the P2P team to work there in July, God willing.
- We have now also started to deliver a substantial amount of food (maize and vegetables) to the crèche every week by way of a grant given to us by the UMaD. This has improved the quantity and variety of the food the children get for breakfast and lunch.
- The first parents meeting for the crèche was held in March and we were delighted to hear some testimonies of the mothers about how happy they were with the crèche. One mother in particular stated that she took her child out of a previous crèche because she was not getting any food but that she was now being fed very well.
Ubuhle Bezwe Orphanage
- We are now providing the orphanage with regular monthly support in terms of food via a grant received from the Meal a Day fund in the UK.
- Children for the orphanage continue to attend the Sunday School that is now held at the Modimo Crèche hall each Sunday.
Tembisa Sunday School and adult Bible Class:
- The Sunday School classes continued with great success the past two months with an average attendance of 20. The four classes are taught by two brethren and two sisters in the ecclesia and they are very committed to teaching the children in an interactive way.
- The adult classes has been very fruitful and the lady that runs the crèche has now also started attending the classes. We will be advertising the Sunday School and Adult class on a much larger scale in the next two months to come.
