Gospel of Peace—Hawaii
October 2005

The Gospel of Peace classes form a Bible Study course designed to enable students to discover the truth of the Bible message through their own study within the Word of God.

We rejoice in the blessings the Lord has chosen to shower upon this initiative. Already 12 of 22 students, at the time of writing, have been called by God into active covenant fellowship following this course. May the Name of the Lord be praised for His great goodness towards us. A recent example was the baptism of (Sis) April Chen in Kailua, Oahu, HI in October 2005. April had been introduced to our community by her sister, Sis. Yue Chen, of the Beijing Christadelphian church in her native China. April undertook the Gospel of Peace study classes while living in Monterey, CA, before moving to Hawaii.

Bro. Mike Szabo, the only resident brother in Hawaii, gave a baptismal address at the beach (top photo) and then April was baptized (middle photo). We all enjoyed lunch and a breaking of bread at Sis. Connie Wiedeman’s apartment afterwards (bottom photo). Sis. Connie continues to struggle against attacks from cancer and remains in need of our prayers to the Father.

Sis April will join in fellowship with the brethren on the island of Oahu (the ‘main island’): Bro. Mike; Sis Fiona; Sis. Connie and Sis. Anna. We pray God’s blessing on their fellowship: may it grow and strengthen to the glory of the Almighty Father, as we await His coming Kingdom at the return of His Son.
