Demand for Ecclesial Building

Four ecclesias have already signed up for the new WCF training workshop titled, Ecclesia Building - two hearts at a time. The "pilot" workshop was conducted this November at the Church Street ecclesia in Toronto, ON. Brother Erik Sternad and Sister Dolores Sleeper have agreed to present their workshop in Seattle, WA in March, Seguin, TX in May and in Simi Hills, CA in December 2000.

Dolores and Erik have tentatively agreed to provide one seminar each three months, due to their other commitments. They will be individualizing each workshop to the specific needs of each ecclesia. They perceive the effectiveness is in how specific they can get in both understanding the ecclesia?s needs and in addressing those needs in a real and practical way during the seminar.

Here?s an excerpt from Brother Rick Hill, who served as coordinator of the workshop held at the Church Street ecclesia:

I have some feedback from last weekend and it is all positive. The two sisters from Trinidad told me that they really enjoyed the day and in fact were inspired to come out to our adult Sunday School class and also to join us for lunch on the Sundays we have an afternoon lecture. Sister X told me that she really got a lot out of it; she thought you were really great. So just to let you know that it has really been a boost to our Ecclesia. Also Brother Y thought that it would be really beneficial to have similar such workshops every six months or so.

New WCF Seminar Offerings

New seminars are now available for Brothers and Sisters to bring to their area:

A complete list of seminar offerings can be found on the WCF Website, including descriptions of most seminars.

Readers are reminded that these are WCF-sponsored workshops. That means the travel expenses of the facilitators and costs associated with facility rental will be covered by WCF, if needed.

New Video Program Release

God?s Land of Promises -- for You is the 5th WCF ?video leaflet? produced by Brother Steve Johnson. Shot in Israel in March, the program presents God?s "great and precious promises" against a backdrop of some of the significant Biblical sites in the land and around Jerusalem. Brothers Paul Zilmer and Norm Fadelle team up once again to explain the significance of Old and New Testament Scripture as it pertains to the various locations.

The jacket cover is an integral part of the video leaflet package. One non-Christadelphian reviewer stated that while the video portion was interesting and helpful, it was the list of Bible references that provided the "real meat" and the means of bringing conviction to the viewer. Brother Chris Wubbels and Brother Aaron Johnson designed the jacket. They also developed a new WCF logo that is featured in the video?s opening shot. (Webmaster's note: the new WCF logo is used throughout this website.)

The cost of the tape is $12 US, $15 Can., postage included. Orders can be placed by calling 1-217-664-3511 . Mail orders can be sent to the

Two additional videotape programs are in progress:

  1. Good News for Israel - this program features recent Christadelphian preaching efforts being conducted in Israel. The video focuses on the work spearheaded by Brother Duncan Heaster and supported by both ?on site? and ?back home? co-laborers. Target release date: February 2000.

  2. Strangers in a Strange Land - this will be a third program in the series God?s Family Around the World. Besides providing a glimpse into the lives of the Brothers and Sisters in Ireland, the video features a number of testimonials on how and why these brethren were converted, and how they continue to promote the Truth. Target release date: April 2000.

Partnership Project Updates

Here is an update on the four projects for which WCF is soliciting contributions:

  1. Bible Basics in Georgian & Estonian the cost is around $6,000 to have Brother Heaster?s book translated, printed and distributed.

  2. WCF has provided $3,000, $500 has been contributed, leaving a shortfall of $2,500. Can you help a future Brother or Sister who is waiting to receive the Truth?

  3. Video duplication & distribution - the cost is around $7,000 for all three of the new video programs.

  4. WCF has already provided $2,000, $1000 has been donated, making a need for $4,000 more. The Foundation firmly believes that these programs help to spread the "good news" and edify the "body of Christ".

  5. Video equipment upgrade - the cost is $23,000 for new hardware and software.

  6. WCF has already received $10,000 in donations. There is need for $13,000 more. The proposed, detailed cost/benefit breakdown is available upon request.

  7. Preaching Effort in Jamaica - A team of six brethren is planning to pursue follow-up work and new campaigning in Jamaica this coming summer. They have already put up ? of the projected costs for airfare, food, accommodation, literature, equipment, gas, and vehicle rental.

They estimate a need of $6000 more, half of which WCF is willing to provide. Thus, there is a need for $3000 more. Here is another opportunity to be wise stewards of our Lord's resources.

Checks should be made out to the Williamsburg Christadelphian Foundation, earmarked for the project(s) of choice, and sent to:

Website Literature Requests

The WCF website continues to have a steady flow of requests for free literature, especially for the booklet John Thomas and His Rediscovery of Bible Truth. During one week in October, there was a flurry of nearly 150 requests! Although 95% of the requests come from the USA, inquiries also came from the Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Finland, England, Spain, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Here?s one specific request that could lead beyond mere literature distribution:

I TEACH IN A MISSOURI STATE FACILITY FOR BOYS AND MY BOSS SAID IF I GOT SPIRITUAL TOOLS FOR THE BOYS TO USE I CAN OFFER THEM TO THE BOYS TO USE. HE IS ALSO A CHRISTIAN AND WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE WAY WE OFFER THE LORD'S WORD TO THE BOYS. THANK YOU KINDLY!

As follow-up, Brother Vic Nance replied:

If you want to take advantage of it, there are Christadelphians in both the Kansas City and Carthage/Joplin,MO area. One young couple has been involved in Mission work, and in the teaching of adults and young. Both are teachers by profession. Again, you will not be contacted, unless you request it.

This is a situation for which to pray for God's blessing.

Our webmaster, Brother Trevor Brierly, has set up links to other Christadelphian sites. On short notice, Trevor was able to offer our site as a conduit for on-line registration for the annual Williamsburg Conference. This service could be extended to other Christadelphian functions. For further information, you can reach Trevor at tbrierly@ari.net.

The WCF site features a motivational "Thought for the Week", by Brother Kyle Tucker. WCF also plans to offer excerpts from "Beside Still Waters", by Brother Don Darley.

Readers are invited to visit the website http://www.wcfoundation.org and give us your feedback. Ideas are particularly welcome.
